This should include clips and/or ideas
of columns at your institution, local outlet or personal blog.
This award is for college students who are interested in journalism. This award is for $1,500.
2026 Cliff Russell Scholarship
Deadline – March 25, 2026
Criteria: Compile a grade point average of 3.0 or above.
Provide your interest in any area of journalism. This should include radio, print journalism or podcast clips and/or done while at your institution, local outlet or personal blog.
This award is for a high school or college student, who shows outstanding promise in journalism or public relations. This award is for $1,500.
2026 Angelo Henderson Scholarship
Deadline – March 25, 2026
Criteria: Compile a composite grade point average of 3.5 or above.
Show evidence of community or church service.
Provide your interest in journalism. This may include clips from your high school publication, radio station or personal blog.
This scholarship is open to high school graduating seniors and incoming college freshmen. This award is for $2,500.
2026 Teresa Blossom Scholarship
Deadline – March 25, 2026
Criteria: Compile a GPA of 3.5 or above
Provide evidence of church, community service.
Provide your interest in journalism or public relations, particularly candidates that show a community focus. This should include clips and/or ideas of columns at your institution, local outlet or personal blog.
This award is for a high school or college student, who shows outstanding promise in journalism or public relations.
This award is for $2,500.

Eye On Michigan is a student investigative reporting program based in Detroit and East Lansing. Our mission is to recruit and train the next generation of watchdog reporters, provide high-quality investigations to Michigan news organizations at no charge and to increase diversity in investigative reporting by engaging and inspiring high school students in under-served communities.

Lobbyists lavished more than $6 million in free meals and trips on Michigan lawmakers between 2001-2023, but flaws in the system make it impossible to determine how much state officials really got.
